Valentine’s Day 14k Partner Row


What: With a partner (or two), and sharing one rower, row 14k. Break the row up into as many pieces as you want.

10am-Noon, with possibility of post-workout recovery lunch

Friday Night Lights 17.1


What: Friday Night Lights is CFEB’s CrossFit Open event. Every Friday night at 5pm, we get together to run the Open WOD competition-style with food, drink, and cheering, it’s the highlight of the CFEB year.

The CrossFit Open: Where grassroots meets greatness. Compete with hundreds of thousands of athletes in five workouts over five weeks. Do it for fun, your affiliate family, fitness or to reach regionals and fight for a chance to make it to the CrossFit Games.


Where: CrossFit East Bay

When: Friday, Feb 24, 5pm-8pm

Who: CFEB members and any cheering squads you want to bring with you. Dinner will be served in the $12-$16 range, which you can sign up for 1 week in advance.

Cost: Visiting CrossFitters who want to be judged for the Open pay $26

Spring Community Day: Memorial Day “Murph

What: Commemorate the memory of a great American, Lt. Michael Murphy by challenging yourself with one of the longest CrossFit workouts.

When: Monday May 29th, 9-11AM

Holiday Party!

When: December 10th, 2016 from 4-8

Where: Crooked City Cider 477 25th Street, Oakland Ca.

What: Awesome CFEB holiday party with GIANT Jenga, Ugly Sweaters, Taco Bar, Cookie Decorating, Arm Wrestling, three types of hard cider and professionally tended bar.

What to wear: Dressy casual, no gym clothes! Ugly sweaters welcome.

Who: CFEB members and their families, children OK

Cost: Tacos $10, Cider $10, and $19 for both! Sign up at the gym.


2016-17 CFEB Holiday Nutrition Challenge

When: Begins December 12, the Monday after the Holiday Party

What: An elimination-style diet challenge to carry you through the holidays as we enter 2017. Culminates in an in-house competition in mid-January.

Cost: Nothing, let’s get everyone in on this.

CFEB January Throwdown

When: January 14, 2017 from 9am

What: This is a friendly in-house (just CFEB) CrossFit competition. You can expect to do 3 events: a lift, a metcon, and a super-secret special workout.

There are Novice and Open divisions so you can compete against CFEB members like you! Signups begin in December.


Winter Community Day: 8th Annual New Year’s Day WOD “Hangover Helper”

What: An all-levels seminar with Shira Yaziv, bodyweight trainer extraordinaire,  focused on Handstand Basics, the Handstand Walk, and maybe Handstand Push-ups.You do NOT need a handstand to take this seminar! If you have a handstand, you will build confidence in your position and advance your skills.
